Late last summer, in response to the CIA issues survey, you told us definitively that your number one issue of concern on Chappy is the Chappy Ferry.

In response, the CIA board began to gather in the fall all the information we could about the history, operations and governance of the Chappy Ferry, as well as the future challenges it faces. We also gathered information about other short-distance ferry services in the United States and how they are facing their challenges.

Our goal was to provide our membership, the broader Chappy community, the Chappy Ferry operator, and Town government with a common set of facts that could be used as a basis for discussing, and planning, the future of the Chappy Ferry. This is in keeping with the long-time role of the CIA to provide information and encourage communications about the most important issues facing Chappy.

Stay tuned for the announcement of a virtual meeting presenting highlights of the Report and inviting questions and comments.

And thank you all for your ongoing interest, input and action about this and other matters affecting Chappaquiddick.
