Learn about “Project Chappy” the 5 year, government funded study being conducted by the New England Center of Excellence in vector borne diseases

• Dr. Stephen Rich, University of Massachusetts Amherst – Principal Investigator, who will explain the Chappaquiddick tick study, its goals, and why this research is so important. He will also introduce the study team, including Dr. Andrew Li (USDA) and Dr. Lars Eisen (CDC).
• Dr. Thomas Mather, University of Rhode Island – One of the nation’s leading tick experts, who will share the latest information on tick biology, prevention, and what every resident should know.
• Virginia Barbatti, Executive Director of Tick Free Martha’s Vineyard – A brief introduction to the organization’s work to reduce tick-borne disease across Martha’s Vineyard.
